It’s immensely satisfying to see both our main characters evolve and grow through time. It’s not just a video game story, it is a cinematic experience similar to something you would find in an Imdb top rated film. Truly, it is one of the best stories I’ve come across in gaming.
The story pulls at your heart strings extremely well with some scenes which I won’t spoil for you, but you know which scenes I’m taking about if you’ve played the game. The tale told during the fifteen hour runtime follows Joel who has to escort Ellie through what’s left of America after a disease turned most of the population into mindless zombie like creatures. Yes, the gameplay is fantastic too but you know you’re not playing it to shoot some zombies you’re playing it to experience Ellie and Joel’s journey through post-apocalyptic America. Now, that I’ve played it, I can tell you, it’s worthy of all the praise it gets. I had a Xbox 360 back before I got a PS4, so I never got to play what was supposedly one of the finest games ever made. I’ll never forget this opening screen with its brilliant music.
