Though this is an arcade racer, not a sim, a snowmobile is a bit tougher to drive than a car. Between races, you can spend your winnings upgrading and customizing your snowmobile. In both versions we found the stunt courses to be frustrating and in general not much fun, so before investing in this game, be aware that racing is pretty much all there is to it. You can play single races by yourself or with a friend (local only), but the main focus is the career mode, which is a mix of races and stunt courses. The additional issues turn the game from a decent buy into a title that most racing fans should probably pass up. On the Wii, there's still a budget price tag, but the old problems return, accompanied by some new ones. It was a fun game with a good sense of speed and a budget price tag, but it was short and had at least its fair share of flaws. Once Time Trials are done, you can make customizations to the game that fit your preference. When we reviewed Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge on the next-generation consoles earlier this year, we recommended it, albeit without much enthusiasm. The game includes a Time Trials mode, where you race as quickly as possible to top out on the leaderboard. You have two kinds of championship racing you can do: Super SnoCross and Open Mountain. In Championship Mode, you partake in various races that garners you cash and unveil new characters and tracks. With Quick Race, you can choose from any available course that has been unlocked in Championship Mode. There are two types of racing on Sled Storm for competition and multi-player – Quick Race and Championship. Four players can compete at one time, which means the game comes with a split-screen option. When it comes to slippery slopes, perilous cliffs and dangerous weather conditions, the Sled Storm on the PlayStation is certainly one to consider. Or, get the online experience with PlayStation Network with online tournaments, leaderboards and voice support. Want to go against other players from around the world? Use Xbox Live to compete in a 12-player online match. Choose from any of the 20 Ski-Doo snowmobiles and buy upgrades to them, including decals and colors. You can do 16 mid-air and death-defying stunts to score massive points. There are 25 tracks to play at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. The game is one of the most all-inclusive snowmobile games ever designed, allowing players to take part in gravity-defying stunt challenges to extreme hill climbs. Coldwood Interactive, a Swedish studio, came up with the design of the Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3.
